Fushimi Inari Taisha

Fushimi Inari Taisha is renowned for its seemingly endless trail of bright red torii gates stretching along a mountain path, creating a breathtaking visual experience. You can walk through each gate, feel the ancient atmosphere, and take stunning photos. The rows of torii gates form a maze-like path—may you find your way through with ease.

Sanjusangendo Temple

Sanjusangendo is a hidden gem, rarely crowded with tourists. It is the longest wooden structure in Japan and houses an awe-inspiring collection of 1,001 golden statues of Kannon, the Goddess of Mercy. You can offer prayers here, as Kannon is believed to grant wishes, or simply meditate to purify your mind and experience peace and tranquility.

Ujigami Shrine

Crossing the Uji Bridge, a landmark that elegantly links both sides of the Uji River, you'll reach Ujigami Shrine. Located beside Uji Shrine, it is dedicated to the guardian deity of Japanese tea culture. This makes it a significant site for exploring the spiritual roots of the tea ceremony. Here, you can immerse yourself in the culture of Japan’s oldest shrine, take memorable photos, and pray for good fortune.

Byodoin Temple

Step into Byodoin Temple, a masterpiece of Heian Period architecture. The solemn statue of Amida Buddha and the iconic Phoenix Hall attract countless photography enthusiasts. As you stroll through the temple grounds, the peaceful gardens and serene ponds offer a tranquil escape, with the gentle sounds of nature enhancing the experience. This is a place where history and spirituality converge, leaving you with lasting peace and inspiration.

Byodoin Omotesando

The Omotesando leading to Byodoin Temple is a quiet, scenic path toward one of Japan’s most sacred sites. Lined with cherry blossoms and traditional lanterns, it feels like a journey through time. Along the way, enjoy authentic Uji matcha ice cream—a refreshing treat made from the region’s renowned green tea—or take part in a matcha tea ceremony, where the aroma of tea harmonizes with the calm surroundings. This is a cultural journey where every step brings you closer to the essence of tradition and the splendor of Byodoin Temple.
